Address of S.V. Kirienko, the General Director of State Atomic Energy Corporation "Rosatom", to the participants of ATOMEXPO 2013 International Industry Forum

Dear participants and guests!

I’m glad to welcome you at the V International Forum ATOMEXPO 2013. It is pleasant to note that over the past five years it has become one of the primary international venues to exchange ideas among the leading international experts in the nuclear industry.

This year our Forum is held under special circumstances: it is a part of a major event being essential for the world nuclear power industry – the IAEA High Level International Conference which is now taking place in Saint Petersburg. The key issues to be discussed are the development of the nuclear energy sector in the XXI century and its role in the progressive growth of economy.

It is a great honor for us that Russian Federation has been chosen as a venue to hold the IAEA Conference in 2013. We follow a determined line to develop nuclear generation and to materially increase its share in the energy balance of the country.

I have no doubt that the Forum ATOMEXPO 2013 will become a significant event for the nuclear industry setting out major tendencies for its further development.

I wish all participants and guests successful work, bright discussions and interesting new meetings in the beautiful city of Saint Petersburg!
