In the frames of MoI parties agreed to conduct a pre-feasibility study on construction in the Philippines of nuclear power plants based on small modular reactor technology. Signing ceremony took place during the visit of the Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte to Russia at the Russian-Philippine business forum.
The agreement opens up a possibility of building the Multipurpose Irradiation Center in Cuba based on the modern technologies offered by ROSATOM and supplied by its subsidiary JSC Rusatom Healthcare.
Rusatom Overseas and Japan’s Agency for Natural Resources and Energy under the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry signed an agreement to join efforts in conducting a feasibility study in 2020-2021 to export hydrogen from Russia to Japan.
The agreement meets all modern requirements for such documents and lays the foundation for practical cooperation between Russia and Uganda in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy. In particular, it implies joint work in such areas as: creation of nuclear infrastructure, production of radioisotopes for industrial, healthcare, agricultural use, as well as education and retraining.
ROSATOM and the Ministry of Energy and Mines of the Dominican Republic signed a Memorandum of cooperation in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy.
The first large-sized cargo for the Unit 1 – the core catcher – has been delivered at the Akkuyu NPP construction site. This equipment, which shall be installed under the nuclear reactor pressure vessel, is a cone-shaped tank weighing 150 tons made of high-temperature steel.
The 23rd Session of Chinese-Russian Nuclear Subcommittee took place in Nizhny Novgorod on 19 July within the framework of the Committee on preparation of regular China-Russia summits. Zhang Kejian, Chairman of the China Atomic Energy Authority, and Aleksey Likhachev, ROSATOM Director General, are the Committee Cochairmen.
Moscow, 11 July – ROSATOM and the Ministry of Energies of the Plurinational State of Bolivia signed a Memorandum of cooperation in the field of developing industrial projects and research in the lithium industry.
The Ministry of Energy and Mines of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) and ROSATOM signed two memorandum of understanding. The first document defines the areas of cooperation in education and personnel training, while the second one establishes the approaches to forming public opinion on peaceful use of atomic energy in Lao PDR.
TVEL Fuel Company of ROSATOM and Czech research center Řež (Centrum výzkumu Řež s.r.o.; CVŘ) have signed an agreement on cooperation in materials science studies and research.
