On 16th of April Rosatom Engineering Division - JSC Atomenergomash concluded a memorandum of understanding with the Petroleum Projects and Technical Consultations Company (PETROJET), one of the leading EPC companies in the Middle East and Africa. The document was signed during the XI Atomexpo International Forum.
On 16th of April at AtomExpo 2019 International Forum the State Research Center JSC RPA CNIITMASH and the Petrojet Company, Egypt, have signed Memorandum of Understanding about development of cooperation for execution of nuclear projects in the Middle East and North Africa regions.
The parties intend to explore various formats and areas of cooperation in both the nuclear and non-nuclear spheres, to engage in joint promotion of their services and products in the global markets. The priority area for cooperation is decommissioning of nuclear and radiation hazardous facilities.
The special focus of the discussion was on the topic of partnership as one of the leading values of the young generation. In order to maintain a high level of competition for the best staff, organizations must not only embrace a culture of partnership, but also act as reliable partners for each other in attracting young employees.
The MoU includes a number of joint organizational activities that aim at the following: drawing up the unified technical policy for unification of the Russian electronic component base; ensuring the interaction with the developers, manufacturers and customers of the electronic component base; involving some basic and applied research institutions that carry out studies on material physics, physics of semiconductors and photonics for development of the Russian electronic component base, as well as the enterprises of radio and electronic industry and the companies within Rosatom State Corporation, while planning research in the field of development and manufacturing of the electronic component base.
At the initial step, within two years after signing the document, the parties are planning to establish a common system featuring the equipment, subsystems and components of radiation monitoring systems commercially produced by MIRION TECHNOLOGIES (field level software and hardware), and the upper level software and hardware package offered by JSC RASU as part of I&C for the European nuclear construction projects (NPPs of the Russian design). Within this step, RPE RADICO LTD will do the engineering works and provide installation supervision, commissioning supervision and operation support services.
The companies intend to begin a dialogue aimed at defining perspective mutually beneficial directions of cooperation, including supply of the fuel for Korean-designed small-sized commercial modular reactors, as well as SNF and RAW management.
The agreement provides for joint production of titanium alloy products with high added value for science-intensive industries such as aviation, automotive and medicine. In particular, it is planned to establish a joint venture for production of aircraft tubular assemblies, special wire for additive production, sonotrodes, automobile suspension components as well as implants and prostheses for application in medicine.
The Memorandum secures the intention of the parties to consider the joint participation in Paks II NPP (Hungary) and Akkuyu NPP (Turkey) construction projects in terms of FP I&C, and the readiness to prepare a partnership agreement (to be signed later).
The signed Memorandum identifies the areas, which are interesting for both parties, including digital solutions and human-machine interface, development of engineering and full-scope simulators, monitoring and diagnostics systems for specific nuclear construction projects.
