During the discussion, participants will talk about how representatives of different countries see the key effects and values of nuclear technologies and why customers today often choose atomic solutions. Topics for discussion will include the principal socio-economic effects of the use of nuclear technologies and how the benefits of nuclear technologies can help achieve sustainable development goals.
Participants in the roundtable will discuss the environmental criteria that affect the choice of power generation type, the environmental aspects of transitioning to a closed nuclear fuel cycle and issues of involving civil society in the dialogue on the environmental safety of nuclear facilities. A case study of Rosatom State Atomiс Energy Corporation will be used to consider the approaches and main results of environmental protection measures currently being implemented.
Representatives of ROSATOM, the IAEA, the World Nuclear Association as well as countries that are developing or planning to develop and improve nuclear power programmes will share their views on key issues for the development of nuclear infrastructure. In particular, they will discuss the challenges faced by a country that plans to develop a national nuclear power programme.
The product is designed to provide foreign customers with the ability to ensure the safe operation of nuclear power plants during all the stages of the NPP life cycle. In addition, the use of the ‘e-shop’ can significantly reduce the time and cost of a project’s implementation and streamline the process of issuing relevant licenses and permits by the national regulatory body.
The discussion “The Sustainable Development of Cities: The Nuclear Industry’s Contribution” will feature an international panel of experts with extensive managerial experience at the global, national and local levels representing international organizations, government agencies and the corporate sector.
The World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) and Rosenergoatom JSC (a part of the Electric Power Division of Rosatom State Corporation) will hold a roundtable discussion on “Creating a Safe Future Together” at ATOPMEXPO 2019.
The main topics for discussion at the roundtable will be the safe and reliable operation of nuclear power plants, professional leadership and support for countries that have taken the decision to develop nuclear energy.
The round-table session “Global Partnership – a Defining Condition for Sustainable Development” participants will discuss ROSATOM and other global companies of the world nuclear power’s preparedness to operate in the logic of building partnership schemes in foreign projects while attracting global partners and local suppliers to ensure sustainable development.
On the 15th of April 2019 in Sochi the round-table session “Preparing for the Future: Innovation and Education” will take place in the framework of the 11th International Forum ATOMEXPO-2019. It will be organized with participation of the Nuclear Energy Agency of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD/NEA).
This year’s ATOMEXPO International Forum in Sochi will feature a roundtable discussion on “Nuclear Medicine: Trends, Innovations and Best Practices” organized by Rusatom Healthcare (a medical integrator that is part of the Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation) in conjunction with the official supplier of isotope products to Rosatom, JSC Isotope.
The call for applications has now closed for the ATOMEXPO AWARDS. This international professional award is presented to companies/organizations for their contribution to the development and use of nuclear energy for the benefit of humankind. The competition is held as part of the 11th ATOMEXPO International Forum.
